 TIE - The Project

The idea to do TIE was formed in the preparatory visit in Bad Nenndorf in February 2009. Every school sent teachers to discuss an idea formed earlier which focussed on influences from out of Europe originally. However, we found out that we needed a common basis to work on and therefore decided to split up the two years into two separate topics, one being the basis for the second.
Therefore, after setting up the project, year one of the project will center around "Living together in Europe" exploring which views and attitudes we share and what connects and separates us in Europe, concentrating on the partner countries. In year two this common ground will be used to explore in how far something like a European identity is also defined by influences from outside Europe, considering how these are regarded, discussed and dealt with in the participating countries and communities.
The project's structure is centered around four project meetings, one in each school, and project days which will be held in each school at about the same time of each year. Results of our work will be displayed and presented on this website but it is also planned to publish a book at the end of the project including the best results of the two years.
For more detailed information see parts of the Comenius partnership application which was handed in after the preparatory meeting in February 2009.
